Before you sail: Carnival prohibits weapons, illegal drugs and cannabis products, explosives, open flames, irons, steamers and other items it considers unsafe. Carnival recommends one bag per person for 3-5 day cruises and no more than two bags per person for cruises of 6 days or longer. Carnival Cruise Line prohibited items
Carnival prohibits weapons, illegal drugs and cannabis products, explosives, open flames, irons, steamers and other items it considers unsafe.
- All luggage is screened, and prohibited items may be confiscated and disposed of without compensation.
- Hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons and shavers are generally permitted; non-surge power strips, multi-outlet adapters and extension cords are also allowed but may be removed if unsafe.
- A cooler no larger than 12 x 12 x 12 inches may be carried on for nonalcoholic drinks or medication.
Carnival Cruise Line luggage policy
Carnival recommends one bag per person for 3-5 day cruises and no more than two bags per person for cruises of 6 days or longer.
- Checked and carry-on cases should weigh no more than 50 pounds and lie within a 16 x 24 inch cross-section; length is not limited.
- Checked-bag service closes two hours before the published sailing time; guests arriving later must take their bags onboard.
- Carry documents, valuables, medication and anything needed while checked luggage is being delivered.
Carnival Cruise Line dress code by night
Most evenings are Cruise Casual; cruises of 5 days or fewer have one Cruise Elegant evening and cruises of 6 days or longer have two.
- Cruise Elegant permits dress jeans, trousers, dresses, pantsuits and other special-occasion clothing.
- Ripped or sheer clothing, athletic clothing and swimwear are not permitted in the main dining rooms at dinner.

Staterooms provide towels, soap, tissues, shampoo, body wash and a 1,250-watt hair dryer.
- Every stateroom has a desk outlet with a grounded 110V North American socket and a 220V German-style European socket.
- USB-A availability varies by ship and, on Carnival Adventure and Carnival Radiance, by stateroom location.
